Hello and welcome to the

Recycling Awareness

Website!

This focus group is committed to increasing the amount of reducing, re-using, and recycling in the campus community.

Educating

Utilizing table cards in the dining halls and bookmarks distributed in the library, coffee shop, and bookstores, we educate students on why, what, and where they can recycle. Also, on special occasions such as America Recycles Day (November 15th), we set up information tables showcasing the possibilities of recycled material, such as carpet made out of plastic soda bottles, deck lumber made from recycled milk cartons and shampoo bottles, and pencils made from denim.

Some members are voicing their concerns through the Collegiate Times campus newspaper. Read this Letter to the Editor

Enabling

To make recycling easier, we work work with people in the University to increase the number of recycling bins and correct labeling of bins. Currently, we're developing a bin inventory of all the academic and administrative buildings on campus.
