What You Can Do
(we no longer need anything done, this is only a reference!
thank everyone who supported us)

1. Tell as many people as you know about the hunger strikers and their requests. Most importantly, give them the address of the webpage so that they can tell others!

2. Join the hunger strike, for as long as you can or for the duration, to show solidarity and support. Hunger striking can be dangerous, please do not join unless you have done research on the issue, and are very familiar with your medical status. Contact me, for websites on the subject and any questions. If you decide to join, be sure to inform the administration listed below.

3. Contact ALL of the people listed below to let them know that you support an open and fair policy that provides alternatives to dissection in General, Principles, and Honors Biology Lab. Please remember to be professional and courteous to avoid giving them an excuse to dismiss your views. Also please forward a copy of your communication to pgrzybow@vt.edu, so that NRV-CARE can keep track of the response. Use our sample letter if you would like.

(we had listed here the names, mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of the relevant decision makers regarding the dissection policy. Included were the head of the biology department, the head of the biology labs, the person in charge of the day to day operations of the labs, the dean, the associate dean of instruction, the assistant dean of instruction, the associate dean of budget and finance, and the president of the university. What might make future actions even easier for supporters would be to make either an email hotlink that has everyone's email on one line, or type out a line of text with everyone's email that can be copied and pasted into the To: line.)
