KNewMail is designed to check multiple email servers, including POP3, IMAP, and Local files for waiting mail and then notify the user of the waiting mail.

Since version 4.0, KNewMail has been completely rewriten. This rewrite introduced a new plugin architecture for KNewMail, which will allow for much greater flexibility in the future. All of the features present in the old version have not been reimplemented in the new version yet. Currently only POP3 support has been written, but others should follow quickly.

• Multiple notifiers, including docking and sound
• Plugin architecture for easy extensibility
• Multiple POP3 account support
• Deletion of mail before downloading
